About
CSRM Foundation develops, applies, and builds capacity within and among heritage preservation communities to apply advanced technologies to research, management, and development at natural and cultural heritage sites and living cultural landscapes. We attend closely to the concerns and objectives of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, ratified by UNESCO in 1972.
We specialize in analyzing and using remote sensing data, including radar, spectral, Lidar, and acoustical data, collected by in-situ sensors or aerial or satellite platforms. We use this data to characterize, evaluate, and monitor protected areas; to understand how historic and prehistoric activities and natural dynamics have shaped and continue to shape landscapes; to manage visitor flow; and to share scientific and historical knowledge.
